Mauro Pompili
Starting off young at the age of 16, Mauro Pompili decided to pursue his path in culinary with the world’s renowned chef, Beatriz Chomnalez, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was born and raised. With this comes the next opportunity that sent him to travel and work all over the most desirable places in the world such as Paris where he started his fine dining career path in a three Michelin-Starred restaurant, L’Arpege; London where he also joined a three Michelin-Starred Gordon Ramsay; and Barcelona with one of the most influential Pastry Chef Ramon Morato. In 2012, Mauro made another move to New York City, where he surprisingly gained love and valuable experience in modern Japanese food culture. On his later time as a "New Yorker", he was invited to lead an immensive expansion of a new dessert concept at the time in Greater China. This was when fate has brought him to meet his partner, Maya Sittisuntorn.
Manunya (Maya) Sittisuntorn
Maya Sittisuntorn took a little different route than any other culinary figures. Grew up in Bangkok, Thailand, but was sent to the United States at 13, where she later earned a BFA in Industrial Design from one of the most renowned schools in the nation for her field, Savannah College of Art and Design. Along with her passion for building and drifting cars, Maya discovered her other passion, food. When she moved to New York City in 2010, she quickly found herself working for the three Michelin-Starred restaurant, Eleven Madison Park. While pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts in Design Management, Maya made the decision to step away from design and fully pursue her career in a chef coat. Very soon after in 2015, she acclaimed one of the respected Zagat 30 under 30. By the end of the year, her expertise was needed to join force with Mauro Pompili to build an empire for an elevated-style dessert concept expansion in Greater China. After a successful project, it was time for the couple to return to New York City and bring their very own vision for a new dining concept to life — MARBLE .
